Letoon Hangar > Our products > Blast Resistant Door
Before producing explosion-proof doors, explosion pressure, explosion time and explosion type must be known. The door design is prepared according to the determined parameters and explosion analysis is performed. Explosion-proof doors must be designed according to UFC 3-3403-02. The purpose of this publication; To present design methods for protective structures used in facilities for the development, testing, production, storage, maintenance, modification, inspection, disarmament and destruction of explosive materials. Otherwise, the door cannot perform its protective function under the specified explosion loads due to design errors. In these cases, tragic consequences such as loss of life and property may occur due to an explosion.
Additionally, anchorage designs along with explosion-proof design are also of great importance. Poorly made anchorage designs cause the door to move during an explosion and fail to do its job. Special anchor designs must be prepared according to the specified explosion loads and the door.
Letoon Hangar prepares the explosion design, analysis, report and special anchor designs along with its products and delivers them as a package. It is necessary to think of explosion-proof doors as a complex system rather than a product like normal doors.
Explosion-proof doors are designed to resist very short periods of high pressure (expressed in milliseconds) expanding outwards from the center of the explosion. The intensity of pressure decreases with distance. However, there are some exceptions, such as nuclear explosions. Nuclear explosions also cause long-lasting (seconds) explosions and fires. When an explosion occurs, there is a violent release of energy in a gaseous medium. This causes a sudden increase in pressure in that environment. The pressure disturbance is called a "blast wave". It distributes the blast wave on the surface after it reaches the door. These usually consist of;
Explosive type and energy output,
Distance of the explosive,
explosion wave pressure,
The interaction of the door with the structure or ground on which it is installed.
